Starting to see results
“Everyone who contributes and shares their knowledge and their network will also get something out of the collaboration,” explains Jonas and continues:
“When ZVT was presented for the first time on a slightly larger scale, we received a very positive response. Many organisations, authorities and companies saw the potential and wanted to get involved and contribute in order to become part of the collaboration platform. It has become much bigger and better than I had initially hoped. We are now starting to see the results of all our work and soon we will also be able to harvest the fruit of our labour.”
Recognition outside of Sweden
Zero Vision Tool is now also becoming recognised outside Sweden and several countries have made contact and want to use the working method. Thanks to the special structure on which the platform works, which is based on the traffic light method (red/yellow/green), nothing gets forgotten and the work is coordinated so that no two players need to work actively on the same issue.
The method also means that the work processes are clear and easy to follow, something which is important as so many different players are affected by all the issues with which we are working.
Sustainable future for shipping
“By working according to the ZVT method, we are showing that the shipping cluster means business. Shipping should be the safest and most environmentally efficient method of transport, and we are working tirelessly to create a sustainable future for the industry. Not only do we now have a communication hub between all those involved in the issues we are trying to resolve, but we have also had excellent communication with authorities and agencies,” says Jonas.
He believes there are major advantages for the individual projects within ZVT in terms of making use of the shared knowledge. Sirius Shipping has chosen to enter its projects via ZVT because the platform provides support and a structure for implementing them.
A new way of working
The company is involved in several projects on the platform and is one of the initiators of JIP MaD (Make a Difference). Sirius is also currently contributing to Pilot LNG, in which it is running the two industrial projects Flexi and EVOlution.
“I think that ZVT can become as big as it needs to in the future. We have found a new way of working, using our experience to become involved in and contribute to future development instead of having new regulations and directives merely foisted on us. This is a much more positive way of working; everyone does what they are good at and then shares this with each other. This is crucial in meeting the challenges of the future,” concludes Jonas.
